40 Knots winery

We are happy to announce we will be carrying 40 Knots Winery products!

Located on 24 stunning acres, 40 Knots is the largest grape winery in the Comox Valley, and one of the largest on Vancouver Island. Owners Brenda Hetman-Craig and Layne Craig are committed to providing quality wines, and a quality experience at their vineyard estate. Situated in the Comox Valley, a stone’s throw from the Powell River ferry, the site is alive with the sounds of barking sea lions, singing birds, and planes from the nearby air force base. There is something special in the air at 40 Knots Winery, and the wines being produced are proof of that.

We will offer 3 of their more popular choices:

Reserve Chardonnay 2012

A lightly oaked Chardonnay reveals aromas of coconut, pineapple, and preserved lemons. Its toasty palate contains hints of vanilla and cloves with a beautifully balanced acidity.
Score – 89

Rosé 2012

A delicate salmon coloured Rosé made of 65% Pinot Noir, and 35% Gamay Noir. The Rosé is the perfect picnic wine, bursting with the aromas of wild strawberries and raspberries, with a hint of white pepper.
Score – 89

Pinot Noir

This savoury and earthy Pinot Noir has a juicy acidity and just a hint of spice. Try it with roasted duck, tender veal, or your favourite wild mushroom creation.
Score – 88
