Courtenay and Comox Foodies In For a Treat

event_dineAround2015It feels like we are always celebrating the culinary bounty of the Comox Valley!  Whether you call yourself a foodie or a gourmet, the upcoming Dine Around festival is sure to please.  This year Dine Around runs in Courtenay, Comox and Cumberland from February 19 to March 15.  During this month long festival, local restaurants and pubs will be offering multiple course meals at a great price!  There is no better way to enjoy the Valley’s many rich culinary offerings.

Here at Union Street Grill and Grotto we try to stay true to our name by using local suppliers. Dine Around gives us the opportunity to showcase their great products. We are featuring the $27 menu with freshly made products from suppliers such as The Perogy Factory, Prontissima Pasta, Natural Pastures and others. We can’t forget to showcase our own amazing products either, so we have included our molten chocolate torte made fresh in house from scratch!!  So check out our Dine Around menu and stop on by!

APPETIZERS

SPINACH ARTICHOKE PEROGIES
Fresh made spinach artichoke perogies from The Perogy Factory
served with cucumber dill.

SPINACH SALAD
Spinach from Pattison Farms with mushrooms and Natural Pastures Boerenkaas
cheese and our own honey yogurt dressing

BRUSCHETTA
Toasted potato rosemary bread with tomatoes, onions, peppers and a
sundried tomato pesto olive oil from Prontissima Pasta

ENTREES

BAKED FANNY BAY OYSTERS
Baked Fanny Bay oysters with a herb cream sauce on a bed of spinach and
brown rice with greens.

SUN DRIED SHRIMP FETTUCCINE
Fresh sundried tomato fettuccine pasta from Prontissima Pasta in a herb
cream sauce with wild baby shrimp, green onions and parmesan. Served with
focaccia stick.

PEPPERCORN COWICHAN CHICKEN
Charbroiled bbq cowichan chicken thighs with a wild mushroom
peppercorn cream sauce with butternut yam mash and greens.

DESSERTS

BLUEBERRY PEROGY SORBET
Fresh blueberry perogies from the Perogy Factory served with lemon sorbet,
whip cream, mint and cinnamon chip.

MOLTEN CHOCOLATE PUDDING
Our own house made chocolate tort melted to perfection and served
with ice cream, whip cream, mint and cinnamon chip.
