10 deliciously easy ways to enjoy all those turkey leftovers

The holiday season is fast approaching with Thanksgiving less than a month away, and Christmas will be here before we know it.

When the guests are long gone and you’re left with all that food, don’t panic! We have awesome leftover turkey recipes to help make sure nothing goes to waste. These quick and easy meal ideas will help you gobble up all the leftover turkey and trimmings, happily leaving none of the crumbs behind.

Keep in mind that turkey leftovers should be used within three to four days. If you’re not going to use it up that quickly, freeze for future meals and come back to this blog post for inspiration.

Recipes that help you get creative with leftover turkey

The Turkey Sandwich

If you’re not using your leftovers to create the perfect turkey sandwich, you’re not doing Thanksgiving (or Christmas) leftovers right.

Take two slices of toasted sourdough bread and spread on some mayo and Dijon mustard. Top one slice of bread with turkey, warmed mashed potato, cranberry sauce, stuffing, and fresh baby spinach. Drizzle on some warm gravy and top with the second slice of bread.

Slice in half, or simply squish down and get that sandwich in your mouth!

Turkey Tetrazzini

Pasta is the perfect way to use leftover turkey (or roast chicken), so give this Turkey Tetrazzini recipe a try! It’s easy to make and can feed a crowd. Put it together ahead of time, then pop in the oven after a long day at the office.

You could also make Turkey Cacciatore or Turkey Lasagna with your leftover turkey meat, or sub turkey in your favourite creamy chicken pasta dish.

Turkey Nachos

Nachos are a quick meal that take very little preparation or cooking time. Simply swap whatever meat you normally use for some of that leftover turkey. Pile on your favourite ingredients and enjoy with a side of guacamole, salsa, and sour cream.

Turkey Soup

A classic way to use those turkey leftovers. This comfort food will warm your bones and help fight germs, so make sure you whip up a batch of your grandma’s recipe. Make sure you have thick slices of warm crusty bread to sop up all that beautiful broth.

Turkey Corn Chowder

Chowder is a great alternative to classic turkey soup. Or you can make both and freeze for future meals. Turkey Corn Chowder is creamy, comforting, and takes little time to prepare. Serve with your favourite crusty bread or a warm batch of cornbread.
