Featuring a night of incredible live entertainment, hosted by Prunella Deville! Des larson will play live! And if that is not enough, David Somers and the Celtic Cargo Cult will also be playing! Entry is by donation – don’t forget to bring your Check books, there will be a very tempting silent auction! -Juma’s World is a new charity, they sponsor orphans throughout Tanzania, Africa by providing for their basic needs and empowering them to dream. They build water wells in remote villages, take teams on task force volunteer trips to Africa, and are Currently building a Juma’s World Dream Center outside of Tabora, Tanzania. for those of you missing our Vanessa, well she will be hosting this evening of music and fun. Vanessa is not only a fabulous server with such enthusiasm and warmth, but she has an amazing voice and plays the guitar with ease. We are very pleased to have Vanessa/Prunella as a host for this evening’s event. She comes from the Yukon and Toronto, bringing a varied mix of sounds to her unique style. Des Larson has a big city heart and small town soul. Pop vocals with a west coast edge. Comparable to artists Michael Buble, JT and Dave Mathews Band. His unique style reflects West coast lifestyle with urban appeal. Des always captures the perfect moment with straight-to-the-heart vocals, soulful falsetto and mesmerizing guitar work.
Des is in the process of completing his latest songs Sober Love, Amber Light, and Mother Lovin’, recorded at Bryan Adams, Warehouse studios with producer and engineer Jamey Koch. David Somers -Celtic Cargo Cult
Born and raised in Ireland, David moved with his family to the Comox Valley 20 years ago. A love for song fuels his writing and performing. As engaging on stage as in person, David is a raconteur that only Ireland could produce. His CD “At the End of the Day” is an equal mix of original songs and unique arrangements of traditional Irish songs.
Celtic Cargo Cult plays a varied set list with songs written by David Somers, unique arrangements of traditional Irish and Scottish songs, as well as contemporary folk. The band brings a fresh feel and a distinctive sound to old world music. From heartfelt ballads to high energy pub songs, their shows will stir your heart and move your feet. .[/one_half_last]
Funds raised through this May 10th Fundraiser will:
• Directly fund the Dream Center building in Tanzania.
• Empower more children to live their best life.
• Portions from the silent auction will also support volunteers from the Comox Valley during
their Summer 2014 Volunteer Mission of Love with Juma’s World, led by Daniel Kooman.
