There’s an awesome art opening this month
The start of August brought fresh art to our walls—and we couldn’t be more excited to share the work of local artists Ron Coutts and Marsha Mackinnon.
Ron and Marsha have individual pieces of art on display until the end of October.
Join both artists at The Grotto on August 17 from 3pm to 5pm. There will be a selection of terrific tapas to nibble on while mingling with Marsha and Ron. Of course, our marvelous menu will be readily available along with daily specials and a selection of beverages.
About Ron Coutts
Ron is a self-taught, fine art photographer who primarily prints large images from photos on canvas. Using various computer programs, he takes the photo to a whole new level by adding textures to create a painterly effect. He works with Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Photoshop, On1 Software, Topaz, Luminar and NIK filters to enhance his high-quality images.
About Marsha Mackinnon
Marsha has a diploma in Fine Arts from North Island College who primarily works in acrylics. She creates compositions that catch the viewer’s interest, and then uses artistic techniques to move the viewer’s eye around the piece. There’s a positive energy to her work that leaves viewers with a sense enjoyment and satisfaction.
Using a semi-realistic style, her objective is to allow the viewer an opportunity to interpret the work from their perspective. Marsha’s collection also includes mixed media, original etchings and original serigraphs.
We hope to see you August 17. However, don’t worry if you can’t make it in—there’s still plenty of time to view the work of these two talented local artists.
