Delicious Downtown Courtenay!

US-front-2-June-2012-940x475Twenty years ago when Union Street first opened its doors, culinary dining in Downtown Courtenay, in fact the entire Comox Valley, consisted of maybe 7 quality restaurants. For those of you long term valleyites, you’ll remember The Old House (The original with Mike McLaughlin as owner), La Cremalliere (now Monte Christo), The Gaffrig (in Comox, on Anderton and Comox Ave.), Fifth Ave Cafe (beside Scotia Bank), Columbos (on Ryan Rd) and The Seaside in Royston. There was also Gourmet By The Sea in Oyster Bay and The Kingfisher was in the process of building its reputation. (having said that, if I’ve forgotten any others, and it’s certainly possible, my apologies!) Not many left from those days, but within a few years, the culinary world of the Comox Valley blossumed and we’re where we are now – a dining Mecca!

We all are doing various specials and themes – we are focusing on oysters. Mainly because we love oysters, but also because they are totally local, and fresh! Our Delicious Downtown Menu will be available all day Friday (6th) and Saturday (7th). So stop by and celebrate with us. Enjoy Downtown!
